The University recognises that a semester or whole year abroad is a huge undertaking and isn’t for everyone. A great alternative is a summer school at one of our partner universities or through an organisation such as the British Council. Summer opportunities are generally a mix of social and cultural activities which can involve taught classes, industry visits, and practical sessions, as well as cultural activities and trips. These may be restricted to students on certain programmes or open to all students.
UOWM KDU run a two week summer school every year, with on average 40 UoL students taking part.
The summer school includes lessons and activities relating to Malay Culture along with local industry visits, with free time for students to explore both Penang and further afield.
To be eligible to attend the summer school in Penang, students must be enrolled on a programme similar to those which we deliver as part of the dual award at UOWM KDU. The subjects include but are not limited to: PR, Media, Computer Science, Engineering, Business and Accountancy.
