Student Mobility

Each year a growing number of University of Lincoln students can go abroad to study, work, or volunteer. International experience can boost a student’s academic and personal development and help gain a whole range of new skills, from problem solving to learning a new language. Students who go abroad can improve their confidence, grow their independence, and potentially increase their employment prospects. The University of Lincoln works with many carefully selected partner organisations to offer a range of programmes, giving students the opportunity to create lifelong memories.

Participating in an international study programme can be a significant and memorable experience that can help shape a student’s future. The programmes provide the opportunity to experience different cultures and lifestyles, and increase independence and adaptability. According to Universities UK International 2019, students who study abroad are more likely to get a first in their degree, are less likely to be unemployed, and more likely to be in a graduate job than their non-mobile peers. They are also likely to earn on average seven per cent more than the average earnings six months after graduating.

Erasmus+

The Erasmus+ student exchange programme enables students to study or undertake a work placement for between two and 12 months in one of 32 European countries as part of their degree course. Those studying at another European university are entitled to receive an Erasmus+ grant which is currently funded by the EU, and the University of Lincoln has been successfully awarded funding up to the end of May 2022.

Students do not need to be fluent in another language to participate as most courses are taught in English. Erasmus+ also offers online linguistic support throughout the study or work placement.
