Volunteering Abroad

The University partners with a number of organisations that can help your students find a wide variety of volunteering opportunities in various locations. These placements enable students to develop a range of skills while contributing to a great cause.

Challenges Abroad is one of the University’s trusted partners, and is committed to providing ethical volunteering experiences that have a long-term impact and are mutually beneficial to both the volunteers and the communities they work in. Its partnership with the FutureSense Foundation ensures that all of its programmes deliver on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and make a sustainable impact on the partner communities. The programmes aim to develop global citizens who are inspired to take action and make a real difference to the world.

Challenges Abroad operates in the regions of Cambodia, India, Nepal, Peru, Romania, Tanzania, and Thailand. Students can opt to join a challenge of their choice individually or as part of a group on a bespoke Lincoln challenge. In recent years, Lincoln students have participated in Media Literacy challenges in Peru where they worked with children from local communities to produce short animation films and trekked up Machu Picchu.

The University of Lincoln Students’ Union also has a wealth of experience and extensive portfolio of overseas volunteering opportunities which you can direct your students towards.
